Good afternoon, we are now preparing to welcome back our 6th grade students who have chosen on-campus learning starting Oct 5. Several of the questions you may have will be answered here, and more info will be added as we begin making preparations for the 7th graders to return on Oct 12, and then for 8th graders returning on Oct 19. * 6th grade students drop off and pick up (car riders) will be in the front of the school. Because of social distancing students cannot be dropped off before 7:10. * Students must be picked up right after school (2:25). *Bus routes are currently posted on the district website. Once on the website, click FIND and scroll down to bus routes. * Students in PE will not dress out for PE until further notice. *AMS will be on regular bell schedule beginning Oct 5. *7th and 8th grade information will come out at a later date.

Alba will be offering many great opportunities to students through the 21st Century Grant. We will offer homework help, special activities (dance, archery, technology, music, and more) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school. Archers Wanted! “Shoot like a Shark” · Must be ready and willing to learn all aspects of archery. · Must have someone who is able to pick you up from practice and obtain transportation to tournaments. · Must be able to maintain a “C” average at all times. · Must NOT have any behavior issues. · Must be willing to participate in fundraising. Only 24 students will be accepted onto the archery team this year. If you have never shot before but are interested in learning, I highly recommend you sign up to be a part of the 21st CCLC after school program. Contact Mrs. Pouliot at gbpouliot@mcpss.com. Tryouts are tentatively set for Thursday, November 5th. To join our archery group and receive updates/announcements until a team is established, go to Schoology and type in this group code: QNNN-HSCS-CZQMD First practice/meeting will be October 27th in Coach Seaman’s room. Good morning, parents and guardians. I have been reviewing all of our teacher’s classes and observing student and teacher interaction and student work. Generally speaking, the students who are participating in their live sessions and/or viewing the recorded sessions are doing well. I commend these students for their efforts, and I thank you, parents and guardians, for your help. However, we have a large population of students who are not completing any work, not joining live sessions, or watching the recorded lessons. This is an issue that I need all of you to help us correct. We desperately need you to make sure that your students are logging on Schoology and completing their work. First quarter is almost over, and many students have not completed any work. This will hurt their average for the rest of the year, and they are going to have to work much harder in order to catch up. Please talk to your children about the importance of making the most of their educational opportunities by utilizing the Schoology platform and logging in to complete work each and every day. Schoology is emailing every parent a progress report every Friday; if you have not been receiving one for your child pleases contact the school after you have checked your spam mail. If you are experiencing any trouble or issues that the school administration should know about, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. It’s a great day to be a Shark! Alba's 21st Century After School Program virtual orientation is Thursday, October 1st. We will hold a WebEx Meeting at 2:30 pm for all parents and students who are interested in this exciting opportunity. Our goal is to provide our students with an enriching after school program experience., including homework help, tutoring, coding, STEM activities, physical fitness activities, dance, archery, robotics, and much more. Monday, September 28: Special-education students (03 and 04 students ONLY – SELF-CONTAINED) may return to school. We are beginning to distribute packets for other special-needs students including information on when they will be able to return to their classrooms. Monday, October 5: Grades Pre-K, K, 1, 6, and 9 may return to school. Monday, October 12: Grades 2, 3, 4, 7, and 11 may return to school. Monday, October 19: Grades 5, 8, 10, and 12 may return to school. Additionally, our feeding program will resume on Monday, September 28, 2020.

Our revised fee list is attached to this post. We will take fees and sell the pictured shirts, masks, and jackets on the following dates from 8-12 at the front of the school. 6th grade will be 9/29 7th grade will be 9/30 8th grade will be 10/1
